This was the best sight of the day for me!! I had such a good time running this one. The weather could not have been more perfect, my body held up and even let me push it pretty hard through the whole thing, and I got to see my munchkins and daddy at mile 16. It was a perfect day! I beat my time by over 40 minutes from last year, which honestly was the only goal I had. I just wanted to do better than last year. And I knew if the weather cooperated I would be able to. Last year was horrible and I don't know anyone who finished with a time they were happy about. I had some unfinished business to take care of this year with Chicago, and I did! I can now look back and know I had a decent time, and move on to the next city. :) But not for awhile..my body SO does not like me today. But, my mind is on cloud 9, so it's a fair trade-off if you ask me. Thank you so much to everyone that was praying for me and thinking of me yesterday...it worked! And thank you Cody (Marty!) for flying out from Portland and enduring time changes, early mornings, and helping Drew with the kids while I was running. One of my most favorite people in the world!! Thank you daddy for spending most of the day driving, so that the kids could see their crazy momma run in a marathon...it was exactly what I needed at mile 16 to carry me to the end. And for supporting my crazy, amazing, and fulfilling running expeditions.Monday, October 12, 2009
