11

I can't believe we have an 11 year old! As I type this, every boy in the picture above is running around upstairs in our playroom. Yes, they are loud. Yes, they are wild. And yes, I am glad they are here! So glad Caleb has his little "crew" of buddies that he has gotten close with. Love that I am content he is friends with each person in this picture, and the awesome families these children come from.

Love this boy and so very thankful for him. My first born little over-achiever. :) Love the memories that come with thinking back to 11 years ago today. Drew and I, totally clueless about taking care of a newborn, not even sure we had the car seat in the car correctly as we pulled away from the hospital. We have experienced so many first's with Caleb. Love the memories of our little townhouse in Libertyville, starting out, NO money, and daddy coming home for lunch almost everyday. Trying to grow a family in that little townhouse and not mess it up too much. Had to learn the hard way with with some of our mistakes as parents as we tried to parent our firstborn. And when I look at that boy today, it just seems crazy to me that 11 years have passed. And I could babble on for days about how fast time goes, especially as they get older. I could probably make myself get a little vaclempt as I think that in 7 years he will be graduating high school, and going to college. But today I am listening to 5 crazy 11-year olds running around upstairs, and I am thankful for the noise. Thankful for the laughter and chatter because in not too long, it is going to be very quiet around here. And I will be wishing someone was chasing someone around. Thank you Lord for this wonderful little man you have blessed us with as we do our best to raise him in the fear and admonition of you. Now, I must go fill the popcorn bowls......my guests are beckoning.
