Swim Meet (first one!)

My big girl! Grace and Caleb had their first swim meet last night and my girl rocked! Look at that form. She was very nervous during the warm-up and she is normally not nervous about much, so I knew she was getting pretty anxious. I sat with her until her first event and kept telling her to just have fun with it. I certainly didn't want to give her the impression that winning is everything. This picture is during her first event which was the 25M Freestyle. She was the ONLY 6-year old in the group. Everyone else was 7 or 8! She beat almost every single girl in all her events. I couldn't believe it. I put her and Caleb in swim team this summer just thinking it would keep them active and give us something to do. Never did I dream this little girl would take such a liking to it and excel the way she has. Caleb did great in the meet too...but he could take or leave the sport as a whole. He is much more of a baseball kind of guy. :) We'll see what this next year holds for us and swimming, but Miss Grace has already informed me she wants to stay with it and that makes my rather happy. So proud of this girl and conquering the fears of the unknown. She never ceases to amaze me......
