Weekend Fun

We had our annual Ward BBQ with some old college friends this weekend. One of the best parts about living in the Midwest these past 18 months has been being able to see friends from our newly married/dating days. Some are friends that Drew went to college with, and some are just us wives that got sucked into the craziness!! :) Always a joy to see people who you have shared so much of your life with. The guys usually sit around the campfire and rehash old college stories..and it's not for the faint of heart! The wives usually spend most of our time in the kitchen, or not too far from it, and talk about everything under the sun. And, every once in awhile a husband will roll through just to check on things, and roll right on back outside. :) It was a rainy weekend, which meant not as much outside fun like smores, but the kids managed to pretty much LIVE in the bouncy house the whole weekend and only come in every once in awhile to change clothes or grab food. Overnights in sleeping bags, while wearing nasty clothes, smelling like a campfire, and not washing your face. Fun times. Fun memories. Fun people we will miss, but thankful to have seen them while we were living close by. And now they have an excuse to come visit New Orleans!!
