Breakfast with Maddie

Our breakfast routine.....after dropping Caleb and Grace off at school we come home and each pick a cereal. We then sit on the bar stools in the kitchen and chat about VERY important stuff. Like whether Martha Speaks or SuperWhy might come on today, will it EVER stop raining so we can play on the swingset, how excited we are for ballet today, and if Maddie is going to get a gumball at Sam's today from the gumball machine. Some days while doing this I look around the kitchen seeing dishes that need to be cleaned, counters that are a mess, and a dishwasher that needs to be emptied. But, I try to ignore it and focus on her. Next year things are going to be very quiet around here when she is in Kindergarten and there will be MORE than enough time for that. I have to remind myself that these days are the one's I am going to wish I had more of down the road. The days that don't revolve around the "big events", but are about the little things that make up our everyday life. Things that may seem boring to some, but pretty cool to me.
