Grace and I started a new tradition around here. Tea Time. Our very good friend Mrs. Patti gave me a beautiful tea pot and cups for my birthday from our favorite tea store....Teavana. Best tea store ever! And a few months ago Grace and I started doing tea time just as something fun to do together during the day, but also something I could use as a reward if she gets all her work done!! We mix our two favorite teas - Blueberry Bliss and Strawberry Lemonade and drink until our hearts content. Sometimes we chat about school, sometimes about girls in the neighborhood who aren't being very nice, but whatever we chat about I'm just so glad I have a little girl that wants to talk and talk and talk about life with me. Trying my hardest to make these situations open and easy so that she always feels comfortable coming to me and sharing what is on that little heart of hers. And making myself take the time to stop what I am doing and be present in these situations. It's so easy to say "later" or "maybe tomorrow" but man does time go fast. I find myself saying those things a little more than I'd like, and I know I will look back and wish I had said them less. I want to show her I am in this with her - good or bad. And so far they are very solvable problems.....in about 10 years who knows. I may be asking her for tea time just to get her to talk to me! Love my tea time with my Gracie girl.
Mom of three super fun and super cool children (Caleb, Grace, Madeline) and wife to one super cool dude - Andrew. Just living life and trying to do the best we can to mold these little sprouts into who God designed them to be. And trying to be "IN" the moments with them rather than looking back and wishing we had spent more time together as a family. And...to be content. Content with where I am in life as a wife and mom. Content with the circumstances God brings into our lives. Life moves by at warp speed, and I want to be present for it. (Jer. 29:11)
