Wooden Boat Festival
We spent the weekend sweating our little behinds off at the famous "Wooden Boat Festival" where we live. Didn't even know about it last year, so this year we decided we must go. Who knows where we may roam in the next year anyway. So we went, we conquered, we sweated, we ate, we ran inside big plastic balls, we caught beads (because Louisiana can turn any event into one with beads), we made wooden boats, and then we dragged our dehydrated selves back to our car. And I'm thinking unless the weather is about 20 degrees cooler next year, I'm ok with hanging out at home. And saving ourselves lots of money. It's all for the family oneness.....and the memories. Hopefully they kids won't remember the fight they had over dippin' dots, sitting on the edge of the pier to watch the boat race and almost pushing a sibling in, or who got the last sip of the lemonade. It's all for the family oneness.......and can't we all use a little more of that?!
