Mardi Gras

We attended our first Mardi Gras parade of the week. It is officially Mardi Gras around here, and it is a little nutty. They do a good job of allowing children to participate without freaking us Type A moms out too much. No inappropriate stuff to speak of. Other than the crazy grandma behind me who almost took off my finger twice trying to rip the beads out of me hands. The second time I almost turned around and gave her the stink eye, but instead I said, "Wow, you must really want some beads tonight." Then when they threw a toy alligator at both of us I made sure I had both paws on it and said, "Yay..I LOVE alligators!!" Made Grace's night to get that one. And mine. :)

So, we survived. The weather was perfect. No concusions from being whipped in the head with beads, praise the Lord. It was a fun family outing, and my children have enough beads to last them a lifetime. Which means I will be picking up beads around here until I am 40. Sweet. All children are currently in a King Cake sugar infested stupor on the couch surrounded by their loot. Their little worlds could not get much more perfect than this......
