We are slowly becoming a golfing family. Without really meaning to, this time in our life just kind of works that way. Our new house is on a golf course, and with our club membership comes unlimited golf....and since I am a woman who gets her money's worth in almost everything, we ARE going to use the golf course!! :) I have always loved to golf. My dad taught me at a young age, and it was how we spent a lot of quality summer days. If I didn't feel like golfing every hole, I was allowed to drive the cart. To a budding 12 year-old, that was the BEST!! I haven't done much golfing since having children because frankly...who has time to shower some days let alone spend 4 hours golfing 18 holes. But, alas, my children are entering a new stage of maturity and I love the idea of us all golfing together. Caleb and Grace started golf lessons this summer and Drew took them each out to golf 9 holes on Saturday. They had the best time! It was so cute to see them come back all red faced and sweaty with big ol' grins on their faces. For now Maddie is just a golf cart rider who gets to bring snacks to eat while she rides around. I'm going to start taking some lessons soon, and brush the dust off my clubs. So, we will see where this golfing thing takes us. I'm picturing it to be a wonderful way to spend alone time with each of our children as they get older. Being stuck in a golf cart with your parents for 2-4 hours can bring up some pretty good conversations I'm praying. We are learning how to take advantage of this new phase of our lives where we can actually do things as a family that don't involve strollers, diapers, and 2,000 other items that used to fill up our car before we could leave. And I kind of like the sound of saying we are a family that golfs.....
