Things they loved, things that saddend them, things that they struggled with, things that surprised them in life....and so on. I have already tortured many people in the family with journals for them to write in for our children. Especially the grandparents. I just love the idea of Caleb, Grace, and Maddie being able to look back and learn about people who play such an important role in their little lives. And it's in their OWN handwriting. How cool is that?! So this book was recommended to me by a few people, and I ordered it today. It's a book about motherhood. Writing about it...the good and the bad. And I am SO going to do this. If for no one else, then for my girls. There were so many parts of becoming a mom I wasn't ready for, and some I was very ready for. Some things I wish someone had clued me in on, and things I just think they would love to know someday when they become mommas. I want them to see that although being a mom is the MOST amazing and fulfilling thing in life, there are days it can also be the hardest and most emotionally exhausting thing ever. The journey of being a mom is one that a lot of women have in common, but don't talk about much...and I'm not sure why that is. Maybe because we want everyone around us to think we have it all "put together", but that is not true and unrealistic. So..that is what I want my girls to know. There is no perfect mom, nor should there be...we are all doing our best to raise our children and learn as we go. God blessed us with these amazing little people, and with His guidance we are doing our best to raise them. And to my closest "mommy friends"...don't be surprised if this book shows up in your mailbox this Christmas. :)

Journaling
I have always been a fan of journals. Can't say I've written in them as much as I should, but I love the idea of people being able to look back and read about the person who wrote in them.
