My little man is 12. How in the world did that happen?! It really is crazy to think it was only yesterday he was watching the Wiggles and singing "Fruit Salad....yummy, yummy". But alas, another year has marched on and I must hang on whether I like it or not. And I don't really like it all that much. We are marching into the teenage years, and although it is nice to be able to walk out of a room without one of my children sticking their fingers in a light socket, I know the moods are getting a little more unpredictable, the fighting and teasing has multiplied X20, and my little man who used to run around pretending he was Buzz Lightyear is starting to notice the opposite gender. Ugh. Double Ugh.
But overall we have so much to be thankful for with Caleb. He is growing and maturing and really becoming a great kid. Yesterday at his teacher's meetings at school all 4 of his teachers told me what a "pleasure" it is to have him in class, and that he is "well liked and respected by his peers". That is pretty cool. Although there are times here at home I think he can have the maturity of a 4 year old and drives me crazy with his sound effects, I love that he can pull it all together when we are not around. The farting noises at least cease at school. ;) Praying we can keep doing all we need to as parents as we try to surf the wave of adolescence right along with him. Happy birthday my little man. You are 12. I'm going to pretend you are 6 though. Maybe pull out some Wiggles DVD's and sing "Cold Spaghetti" with me? Maybe?
