Self confidence doesn't always abound for this little girl. Not sure why. She is learning that she doesn't look the same as other girls, and that can be a little hard for her. I know it's all part of her age right now. Girls start to come into their own, and start to either be ok with it....or not. Trying my hardest to encourage her to be herself and that she is a pretty amazing girl. She may not always have the perfect hair, perfect teeth, or be a certain size as she grows-up...but I can guarantee you this girl will make you laugh so hard you can't stand up. And I'd much rather have her as my friend to make the best of a not so great situation than anyone else. I can't wait to see who God brings into her life as a friend as she grows. I was blessed with the most amazing friends growing up, and I pray she is as blessed as I was. Anyone who gets to be this girl's friend is pretty lucky.
And today she got to be the "it" girl in softball. The one who proved she could hang with the best of them. She is playing catcher this year, and not very thrilled about it. She has one heck of an arm though, and is one of the few girls on her team who can throw the ball across field. So she is catcher. And with each game she learns a little more. She rocked it today. At bat and out in the field. Every time she got up to bat she creamed it. And my heart did a little happy dance for her. I love to see her succeed. Love to see her turn and look at me from home plate and smile. I don't think there is anything better as a parent. To see your child succeed and watch her confidence soar is the best. So proud of her.
