Springy Saturday's

This morning we woke-up with a big giant to-do list to conquer. Daddy was anxious to wheel up the ol' lawn mower from the basement and mow the grass for the first time since last winter. There is something about the smell of gasoline mixed with grass floating up his nose that makes him a happy man. And since Caleb is half his...he also feels this way, and loves helping him mow the grass. Grace and I planted flowers and pulled weeds, and Maddie just puttered about in typical Maddie form. We took a little Sonic break which of course turned into playing a mean game of Go Fish in the back of daddy's sweet rental car. :) There are so many things about this house I will miss, but I think this ranks in the top 3. Saturdays that we all putter around the yard and spend it together by crossing paths every little bit. Stopping to eat or drink, blow some bubbles, spray someone with the hose, or high five with dirty, nasty hands. The smell of something Daddy has made cooking in the smoker, and ALL feeling like we SO deserve a shower or bath before dinner. I use the term "ALL" losely since I still have to beg my 9 year-old to clean himself. He would probably go to bed with sweat and dirt dripping off his face and not even care.
