We are trying something new in our household this year.....2010. Twenty ten, doesn't that just sound cool? Heard of the idea from a blog I read, and decided that it was pretty neat. It's called "One Little Word", and you pick one word that you want to work on this year. "A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow."-Ali Edwards. A word that describes an area of your life that maybe could use a little improvement, or an area to be more mindful of as you carry out your daily routines. So I sat everyone down Saturday morning and told them my plan. Bwahahahahah! I got an 80% approval rate, and the other 20% didn't have much choice. :) Everyone had 24 hours to think of their "word" for the year and it could only be ONE word, not a sentence. I reconviened everyone yesterday and we made a list of our words that I will do something fun with and hang somewhere that can be seen.
Daddy - WISDOM
Mommy - TIME
Caleb - KINDNESS
Grace - SELF-CONTROL
Madeline - PATIENCE
Galations 5:22-23 is a big verse in this house and one that all three kids have had to memorize in school, so we kind of used that one as a guide for them.
Mom of three super fun and super cool children (Caleb, Grace, Madeline) and wife to one super cool dude - Andrew. Just living life and trying to do the best we can to mold these little sprouts into who God designed them to be. And trying to be "IN" the moments with them rather than looking back and wishing we had spent more time together as a family. And...to be content. Content with where I am in life as a wife and mom. Content with the circumstances God brings into our lives. Life moves by at warp speed, and I want to be present for it. (Jer. 29:11)
