started a new tradition last night. We have coined them "gummy bear chats". :) It is no secret to those that know me that I have a deep, deep love for all things gummy. And it is also a given that the apple wouldn't fall too far from the tree....so to speak. So, my little man loves gummy bears. Anytime he can choose candy for movies, road trips, ice cream, or to just enjoy on a random Thursday night, it's all about the gummy bears. So last night, I was attempting to clean up the kitchen and Caleb kept walking in looking rather bored. He asked if we could do something together and layed his eyes on a bag of gummy bears his daddy and he had gotten last week. So, we pulled them out (in secret) and sat in the kitchen at the island and chatted about "stuff". Nothing of earth shattering importance, but stuff he had on his little heart. And it was fun! Just he and I bonding over gummy bears. So a new tradition has been born. And now he is going to HAVE to do this with me for the next 9 years (and then more!) until he is 18. Right now the topics may be easy, but I know someday they will be bigger and weigh heavier on my heart. Trying to keep those lines of communication open, easy right now, but I know will get harder. So I'm dreaming of the those times he comes home from college, or home for a holiday with his own family, and we can sit together and enjoy a bag of gummy bears. Gummy Talks

Mom of three super fun and super cool children (Caleb, Grace, Madeline) and wife to one super cool dude - Andrew. Just living life and trying to do the best we can to mold these little sprouts into who God designed them to be. And trying to be "IN" the moments with them rather than looking back and wishing we had spent more time together as a family. And...to be content. Content with where I am in life as a wife and mom. Content with the circumstances God brings into our lives. Life moves by at warp speed, and I want to be present for it. (Jer. 29:11)
